The Irony of It All: BC Gives Ship Building Contract to China

Canadian shipyards and their supply chains cannot compete with low wage countries that have lower employment standards, lower environmental standards and lower safety standards than Canada and BC. The most significant difference is that in BC, the wages that we pay our skilled trades workforce are substantially higher than in these other countries. This is a clip of the FBI Director on Joe Rogan talking about Vancouver as a port of entry (WeAreCanadaProud.)

This FBI intel makes sense given regularly reported news on BC’s drug labs. For example, again, right here in BC:

On Friday, October 25, 2024, RCMP Federal investigators conducted a series of coordinated enforcement actions across Metro Vancouver, and executed search warrants on a massive drug superlab in Falkland, BC, and associated locations in the city of Surrey, BC….[This] delivered a decisive blow to a major transnational organized crime group by dismantling the largest and most sophisticated fentanyl and methamphetamine drug superlab in Canada. The combined fentanyl and precursors seized at this facility could have amounted to over 95,500,000 potentially lethal doses of fentanyl, which have been prevented from entering our communities, or exported abroad…. Feb 27, 2025 RCMP: CBSA border services officers at the international mail and cargo processing facilities in Mississauga, ON, and Vancouver, BC, seized multiple shipments of synthetic opioids arriving from China and destined to an address in Mississauga. Officers also intercepted additional shipments intended for international export. Using various investigative techniques, the CBSA’s Greater Toronto Area Region’s Intelligence section provided the RCMP with the evidence required to obtain a search and arrest warrant. This, while Canadians are “buying local” and spending $20 more on their grocery that they don’t have, effectively funding Communist China’s economy, the aggressive enemy of our freedom and democracy.
